Who is this for?
This 14 day package is for people coming to Peru in the first place to get to know the true Amazon Rainforest. Discover the Amazon Rainforest through its most famous river and natural wonder of the world; the Amazon River. Hike in the jungle, spot nightlife, take a night excursion and even camp in the midst of the largest Rainforest in the world. Of course a trip to Peru would not be complete without a side trip to visit the other world wonder; Machu Picchu.
DAY TO DAY
DAY 1 - Lima
On arrival in Lima you will be greeted at the airport by one of our English-speaking representatives and taken in private transport to your hotel, located in the most popular tourist districts of Lima – Miraflores. Here you can spend the rest of the day soaking up Lima’s coastal area with perhaps a stroll along the seafront, sample delicious fresh seafood and perhaps sip on a Pisco Sour cocktail while gazing over the Pacific Ocean.
DAY 2 - Lima
Today you will be picked up from your hotel for a half day city tour of Lima. First, you will head towards the historic center and explore its colonial buildings and impressive plazas. You will visit the Plaza San Martin and Plaza de Armas, where you can enjoy the Presidential Palace and main Cathedral – one of the oldest on the continent. After visiting the city center, you will visit two more upscale districts of Lima: San Isidro and Miraflores. In San Isidro, you will explore the Parque Los Olivos, which covers 23 hectares and is officially recognized as a national monument. Lastly, your tour guide will show you the seaside Miraflores, where you will later be returned to your hotel. Again, you will have the rest of the day to go shopping, visit museums, walk along the beach, or just sit in one of the many parks of Miraflores and watch life passing by.
DAY 3 - Cusco
In the morning you will be picked up from your hotel and taken to the Lima airport for your flight to Cusco. On arrival in Cusco you will be collected from the airport and taken to your hotel in the picturesque ancient center of the city. You’ll be taken on a guided tour where you will learn all about the history of Cusco, the architecture and the people – visiting not only the city center itself but also the nearby Inca sites such as Sacsayhuaman and Tambomachcay. We can recommend a number of Cusco’s best restaurants for you to while away the evening.
DAY 4 - Sacred Valley of the Incas
In the morning will be picked up from your hotel and taken to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. The journey into the Sacred Valley begins in the picturesque village of Pisac. Renowned for its artisan street market, you can spend hours wandering around and perusing the hand-made artisanal products sold here. Next, after a lunch in Urubamba we’ll continue to the charming Inca village of Ollantaytambo, a small village located at the foot of some impressive ruins and more or less the gateway to Machu Picchu.. The layout of this village hasn’t changed since the Incas placed the first stones there hundreds of years ago. With water running down the narrow cobbled streets and ruins overlooking the valley, this is definitely one of the highlights of this trip. At the end of the day you can either stay the night in the Sacred Valley or go back to Cusco to spend the night.
DAY 5 - Machu Picchu
In the early morning you will be picked up from your hotel in Cusco or the Sacred Valley and taken to the train station in Poroy or Ollantaytambo station for your train to Machu Picchu. From here you will begin a spectacular journey in the panoramic carriage through the Andes and into the small town of Aguas Calientes, the gateway to the Machu Picchu. After you are settled in your hotel, a bus will drive you to the entrance of Machu Picchu where you will be given a guided tour of the site. You will visit the agricultural as well as the religious and sacred sectors of this large and highly elaborated site. After some free time in the afternoon, you can head down to Aguas Calientes and your hotel for a good meal and relaxing evening.
DAY 6 - Machu Picchu
This day you may want to start early in order to catch the sun rise at Machu Picchu – a sight that will not easily be forgotten. This day you can enjoy exploring the outer parts of Machu Picchu; Huayna or Machu Picchu Mountain located on both ends of the site, providing the best views of the World Wonder. In the afternoon you will have your return train to Cusco.
DAY 7 - Cusco - Lima - Iquitos
In the morning you will be picked up from your hotel for your flight to Lima. In Lima you can connect with your flight to Iquitos in the far north of Peru. On arrival in Iquitos you will be picked up and taken to your hotel in the city center for the night.
DAY 8 - Iquitos
Today you will have a day to acclimatize to the tropical atmosphere of the Peruvian jungle. In the morning you will be picked up from your hotel for a tour of the city center. See the famous iron House built by Gustave Eifel, enjoy the craziness of this jungle city and finish with a visit to the floating market of Belen where you can gaze at the amazing and undefined variety of jungle products offered here. The rest of the day you have free to wander through this fascinating city and enjoy some free time at the swimming pool.
DAY 9 - The Amazon Rainforest
Today early in the morning you will be picked up from your hotel and taken to the pier for your boat trip over the Amazon River to your jungle lodge where you will spend the next couple of days. Enjoy a couple of hours on the river – one of the biggest in the world – and see the jungle passing by while floating over the river bordered by dense forests. On arrival at the lodge you will be briefed about the surrounding jungle and enjoy your first excursion into the forest before turning in, surrounded by the sounds of hundreds of birds, frogs and other animals.
DAY 10 - 13 - The Amazon Rainforest
These days will be ones that will not easily be forgetten. Living in the midst of the Amazon Rainforest you will enjoy great activities such as daily hikes, canoe trips, wildlife spotting excursions, canopy walkways, fishing excursions and bird watching meanwhile having a professional guide at your side explaining all about living in the jungle and coping with this environment. On day 12 you will also have the chance to spend one night camping in the jungle and this will give you a jungle experience that you will never have imagined possible.
DAY 14 - Iquitos - Lima
After breakfast, you will be picked up at the lodge and taken back to Iquitos by boat. From here you will be taken to the airport for your flight to Lima. In Lima you can take your ongoing international flight.

2 Day Ica & the Ballestas Islands
Visit Ica, the Oasis of Huacachina, optional you can enjoy a buggy ride in the desert and the next morning embark your boat for a visit to the Ballestas Islands. Here you can see penguins, sea lions and with some luck maybe even a whale.
2 Day Nazca Lines
2 Day Puno & Lake Titicaca
This 2 day extension will introduce you to Lake Titicaca the highest navigable lake in the world. Located at 3811 meters above sea level, this is not only one of the higher lakes in the world; it is also the second biggest in South America. You will get to know Puno, the Peruvian city located at the shores and from here embark a boat taking you to the Floating Islands of Uros and the Island of Taquile for an unforgettable day. Optional you can also spend the night on the island.
3 Day Arequipa & Colca Canyon
This 3 day extension will give you the chance to get to know Peru second most important city; Arequipa. Nicknamed “White City” Arequipa has one of the most beautiful plazas in Peru and one of the oldest Monasteries in South America. The next day you will head for the second deepest canyon in the world; The Colca Canyon. In the Colca canyon you will also visit Cruz del Condor and with a bit of luck marvel at these majestic birds, the largest flying birds in the world, soaring right over your head.
3 Day Chiclayo & Trujillo
This 3 day extension takes you to the lesser known Peru. Maybe lesser known but not less impressive, amazing sites such as the Temple of the Sun and the Moon, the Sipan Museum and of course Chan Chan, the biggest adobe city in the world awaits you in this part of Peru.
3 Day Mancora beaches
In order to complete your holiday with some time at the beach, we can offer you this extension to Mancora. Nice weather, large beaches, palm trees and great seafood, what else would one need to relax in this part of Peru after visiting all the amazing sites.
Full Day Chincheros, Maras & Moray
This full day tour starts in Cusco (optionally in the Sacred Valley) and takes you first to the Inca Ruins of Chincheros, one of the older villages between Cusco and the Sacred Valley. From here you will continue to Maras, one of the few Inca agricultural “laboratories”. This is a collection of unique Inca terraces built in a natural depression and served to make different crops resistant to different altitudes and climates. Finally we will take you to Moray, an open salt mine still in use today.
Full Day Lima Culinary Tour
This full day tour gives you the chance to get to know “the new culinary capital” of South America; Lima. You will visit a local market to do the shopping for the day. Later you will be assisted by a local family in making some of the Peruvian specialties and in the evening you will be taken to one of the great restaurants and bodegas in Lima.
