Who is this for?
This 10 day trip is for people looking to get to know some of Peru’s most famous attractions such as Cusco and Machu Picchu but who also have an interest in seeing Peru’s most metropolitan cities Lima and Arequipa. Finally topped off with a trip to the second deepest canyon in the world, the Colca Canyon, with its famous flying inhabitants, the Condor, this makes for an awesome 10 day vacation!
DAY TO DAY
DAY 1 - Lima
On arrival in Lima you will be greeted at the airport by one of our English-speaking representatives and taken in private transport to your hotel, located in the most popular tourist districts of Lima – Miraflores. Here you can spend the rest of the day soaking up Lima’s coastal area with perhaps a stroll along the seafront, sample delicious fresh seafood and perhaps sip on a Pisco Sour cocktail while gazing over the Pacific Ocean.
DAY 2 - Lima City Tour
Today you will be picked up from your hotel for a half day city tour of Lima. First, you will head towards the historic center and explore its colonial buildings and impressive plazas. You will visit the Plaza San Martin and Plaza de Armas, where you can enjoy the Presidential Palace and main Cathedral – one of the oldest on the continent. After visiting the city center, you will visit two more upscale districts of Lima: San Isidro and Miraflores. In San Isidro, you will explore the Parque Los Olivos, which covers 23 hectares and is officially recognized as a national monument. Lastly, your tour guide will show you the seaside Miraflores, where you will later be returned to your hotel. Again, you will have the rest of the day to go shopping, visit museums, walk along the beach, or just sit in one of the many parks of Miraflores and watch life passing by.
DAY 3 - Arequipa
In the morning you will be picked up from your hotel and taken to Lima airport for your flight to Arequipa. On arrival in Arequipa you will be picked up and taken to your hotel. The rest of the day will be free for you to acclimatize slowly to the altitude. You can wander through the astonishing city and enjoy stunning views of volcanoes. Arequipa is known as the “White City,” as sillar, a white volcanic stone is one of the main building materials used in the construction of the city. During the day, you can visit the Plaza de Armas, the Santa Catalina Monastery and the preserved Incan princess, Juanita. The town is full of colorful markets, museums, shops and restaurants, leaving something for everybody.
DAY 4 - Colca Canyon
You will be picked up in the morning from your hotel for the start of a 2-day Colca Canyon adventure. You will drive through national parks and stop at several viewing points of snow-capped volcanoes and mountains until you reach the small village of Chivay. You will be dropped off at your hotel to settle down, take a rest and if you choose, walk around the Andean town. Chivay has beautiful mountainous views and is full of color as locals walk around in traditional Andean attire. In the afternoon, you will visit the local thermal hot springs for a healing dip in these amazing surroundings, before heading back to your hotel for a relaxed evening in this amazing canyon.
DAY 5 - Colca Canyon
After breakfast, we will start the day with a drive alongside the Colca Canyon until reaching the “Cruz del Condor.” This viewing point is famous for its large number of condors living alongside the cliffs, using thermal winds to float through the sky. With a bit of luck you will see the largest flying birds floating majestically, sometimes just meters over your head. From here, you can also appreciate the true magnitude of the Colca Canyon, the second deepest in the world and twice as deep as the Grand Canyon. After visiting the Canyon, we will return to Arequipa where you will be taken to your hotel.
DAY 6 - Cusco
In the morning you will be taken to Arequipa airport for your flight to Cusco. Upon arrival in Cusco, you will be met and taken to your hotel in the city center. Cusco is the historical center of the Incan Empire, built on Incan foundations and holding endless tourist attractions such as old museums, vibrant markets, colorful squares and fascinating views all around. With a city full of culture, history, modern life and natural beauty, there is truly something for everyone. In the afternoon you will be picked up from your hotel in Cusco for a half day tour of this amazing city in the Andes. One of the oldest cities on the continent with an unequalized history, Cusco has so much to offer for visitors. You’ll be taken on a guided tour where you will learn all about the history of Cusco, the architecture and the people – visiting not only the city center itself but also the nearby Inca sites such as Sacsayhuaman and Tambomachcay. In the evening you can have a stroll through the city center and enjoy some of Cusco’s great restaurants.
DAY 7 - Sacred Valley
In the morning will be picked up from your hotel and taken to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. The journey into the Sacred Valley begins in the picturesque village of Pisac. Renowned for its artisan street market, you can spend hours wandering around and perusing the hand-made artisanal products sold here. Next, after a lunch in Urubamba we’ll continue to the charming Inca village of Ollantaytambo, a small village located at the foot of some impressive ruins and more or less the gateway to Machu Picchu. The layout of this village hasn’t changed since the Incas placed the first stones there hundreds of years ago. With water running down the narrow cobbled streets and ruins overlooking the valley, this is definitely one of the highlights of this trip. At the end of the day you can either stay the night in the Sacred Valley or go back to Cusco to spend the night.
DAY 8 - Machu Picchu
In the early morning you will be picked up from your hotel in Cusco or the Sacred Valley and taken to the train station in Poroy or Ollantaytambo station for your train to Machu Picchu. From here you will begin a spectacular journey in the panoramic carriage through the Andes and into the small town of Aguas Calientes, the gateway to the Machu Picchu. After you are settled in your hotel, a bus will drive you to the entrance of Machu Picchu where you will be given a guided tour of the site. You will visit the agricultural as well as the religious and sacred sectors of this large and highly elaborated site. After some free time in the afternoon, you can head down to Aguas Calientes and your hotel for a good meal and relaxing evening.
DAY 9 - Machu Picchu
This day you may want to start early in order to catch the sun rise at Machu Picchu – a sight that will not easily be forgotten. This day you can enjoy exploring the outer parts of Machu Picchu; Huayna or Machu Picchu Mountain located on both ends of the site, providing the best views of the World Wonder. In the afternoon you will have your return train to Ollantaytambo station. On arrival by train you will be picked up and taken to Cusco and your hotel.
DAY 10 - Lima
During the day we will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco and bring you to the Cusco airport for your flight to Lima. In Lima you can than connect with your international flight.

2 Day Ica & the Ballestas Islands
Visit Ica, the Oasis of Huacachina, optional you can enjoy a buggy ride in the desert and the next morning embark your boat for a visit to the Ballestas Islands. Here you can see penguins, sea lions and with some luck maybe even a whale.
2 Day Nazca Lines
2 Day Puno & Lake Titicaca
This 2 day extension will introduce you to Lake Titicaca the highest navigable lake in the world. Located at 3811 meters above sea level, this is not only one of the higher lakes in the world; it is also the second biggest in South America. You will get to know Puno, the Peruvian city located at the shores and from here embark a boat taking you to the Floating Islands of Uros and the Island of Taquile for an unforgettable day. Optional you can also spend the night on the island.
3 Day Chiclayo & Trujillo
This 3 day extension takes you to the lesser known Peru. Maybe lesser known but not less impressive, amazing sites such as the Temple of the Sun and the Moon, the Sipan Museum and of course Chan Chan, the biggest adobe city in the world awaits you in this part of Peru.
3 Day Mancora beaches
In order to complete your holiday with some time at the beach, we can offer you this extension to Mancora. Nice weather, large beaches, palm trees and great seafood, what else would one need to relax in this part of Peru after visiting all the amazing sites.
3 or 4 Day Jungle Excursion
This 3 or 4 day excursion (more days can be added) will take you to one of the most pristine parts of the Amazon Rainforest. Tambopata National Reserve is known for being one of the most pristine parts of the Amazon Rainforest and a good chance on seeing wildlife. You will enjoy walks through the forests, climbing a canopy tower to see the jungle from above, evening walks and piranha fishing, all under the guidance of great and knowledgeable guides.
Full Day Chincheros, Maras & Moray
This full day tour starts in Cusco (optionally in the Sacred Valley) and takes you first to the Inca Ruins of Chincheros, one of the older villages between Cusco and the Sacred Valley. From here you will continue to Maras, one of the few Inca agricultural “laboratories”. This is a collection of unique Inca terraces built in a natural depression and served to make different crops resistant to different altitudes and climates. Finally we will take you to Moray, an open salt mine still in use today.
Full Day Lima Culinary Tour
This full day tour gives you the chance to get to know “the new culinary capital” of South America; Lima. You will visit a local market to do the shopping for the day. Later you will be assisted by a local family in making some of the Peruvian specialties and in the evening you will be taken to one of the great restaurants and bodegas in Lima.
